Hello all, I’m in the process of selecting a wireless access point for my home and would love some input. I have quite a large property and am struggling with getting consistent coverage throughout the whole area. I’ve narrowed it down to two options: the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-PRO and the Netgear WAC564.

I’m particularly keen on understanding which of these two might offer better range. Has anyone tested these models in a larger property or under conditions where the signal has to go through multiple walls and other potential obstacles?

I would truly appreciate any insights or experiences related to the range capabilities of these two devices. Thanks in advance!

@Michael Both the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-PRO and Netgear WAC564 have good range, but there are some differences that may impact your choice. The Ubiquiti model has a slightly longer range but it, like all wireless devices, will be affected by walls and other obstacles. The Netgear model may offer a more stable connection overall, especially if you have many devices. It’s also easier to set up. If your property is very large, you might want to consider multiple access points to ensure coverage. The Ubiquiti model supports this quite well. But, if you’re looking for simplicity, Netgear could be the better option. In the end, the choice will depend on your specific needs and setup.
