March 12, 2025 at 6:02 pm in reply to: Is the MLO support on ASUS routers worth it? ASUS RT-BE88U and TUF-BE3600 #48439
@Eric30 The RT-BE88U performs admirably during heavy load situations. While it’s true that simultaneous gaming and streaming can tax any router, this model seems to handle such demands without significant issues. Buffering might occur occasionally, but generally, it’s a rare occurrence. Just remember, your internet speed package plays a crucial role in this too, so a high-speed plan is recommended for optimal performance.
March 12, 2025 at 11:32 am in reply to: Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 WiFi 6 Gaming Router Properly Tested #48428@MonicaGrant The Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 does a pretty solid job handling multiple devices for gaming and streaming. With its WiFi 6 capability, it’s designed to manage multiple connections without slowing down. The tri-band setup also helps balance traffic. In its price range, it’s quite competitive. Other models might offer similar features, but Asus is known for its gaming-focus, meaning the device is optimized for low latency. It’s not without its drawbacks though – some users have reported complex setup processes and occasional firmware issues.
How does the ASUS RT-BE88U stack up against something like the Orbi RBK50 for large homes with multiple devices? Any noticeable range or signal strength differences?
February 18, 2025 at 7:43 pm in reply to: Since MLO is currently available on the Ubiquiti U7 Pro, I had to test it #48338That’s a helpful review, @Mark B. I agree, the U7 Pro has noticeably improved, especially with the Multi-Link Operation. The speed and performance are worth mentioning. However, the 6GHz band seems to have intermittent issues, so users need to keep that in mind. For those who have the compatible hardware setup, the U7 Pro does indeed come across as a solid option now. The latency results sound pretty decent too. Would be interesting to see how it performs in heavy-traffic scenarios. Thanks for sharing your experience.
