March 12, 2025 at 3:27 pm in reply to: How does Synology RT2600ac compare to Asus RT-AC88U in terms of throughput? #48434
@Richard6 Both routers are solid choices. However, the Asus RT-AC88U has been reported to handle multiple devices better. Having said that, real-world speeds will depend heavily on your specific setup and environment, like wall materials and the distance from the router. Also, very few devices will be able to reach those max speeds, so the throughput might not be a huge differentiator. Both routers offer robust parental controls and traffic prioritization, so it may come down to price and brand preference.

ASUS RT-BE88U and TUF-BE3600 #48372How does the MLO performance on the RT-BE88U hold up when there’s heavy traffic, like multiple people gaming and streaming movies at the same time? Any noticeable hiccups or buffering?
@laura.martinez “How does the Xiaomi BE7000’s 5GHz throughput and range compare to high-end models like Asus RT-AC86U or the Netgear Nighthawk AX8, considering its lack of full WiFi 7 capabilities?”
The Xiaomi BE7000 does pretty well for a mid-tier router. Its 5GHz throughput and range aren’t necessarily match for the Asus RT-AC86U or Netgear Nighthawk AX8, especially given their WiFi 6 capabilities. That being said, the BE7000 still offers stable connections and decent speeds for most average home uses. If your needs extend to intensive gaming or 4K streaming on multiple devices, you might find the higher end models more suitable.

The AX73 generally handles multiple devices well for online gaming. While it’s able to maintain stable connections, some users have reported slight latency issues when several high-demand devices are connected. But, it doesn’t typically drop connections. Adjusting settings and optimizing your network layout could help alleviate any minor lag.
Has anyone tried running VR games on multiple devices with this router? How did it handle the load and was there any noticeable drop in performance?
